This digital design is based on my 'Mathematical Orchid' painting, integrating both Sacred Geometry of Mathematical Knots and the intrinsic beauty of the orchid flowers themselves. This is one of my 'Mathematical Knots' collection, based on Knot Theory.
Knot theory includes the study of links, which consist of any number of knots (called components) intertwined in any manner. A popular motif in ancient Rome, links were often added to mosaics adorning homes and temples, displaying endless combinations of Celtic knot and link patterns.
Knot theory has been around for a long time, and is applicable to a wide range of scientific fields, ranging from fluid dynamics to quantum field theory. I love showing the magical nature of this hidden world around us.
